Getting to Manchester Airport
If you are having to travel a long way or in winter in particular you may wish to consider booking a Manchester Airport Hotel and parking which is often a little more than the cost of off airport parking.
By Coach
Stagecoach, Trent and Arriva, operate services from the bus station at the airport to Manchester city centre, Altrincham and Stockport.
Some buses run from as early as 03.00 with buses running about every 10 minutes during the day. If you are catching early or late flights it is always sensible to check your connection times.
By Car
This is by far the most popular way to travel to Manchester airport because of the convenience factor and not having to rely on third parties. The motorway network is first class with the M6/ M56 and M62 connecting to the M60 that runs all the way round Manchester.
The only downside is at peak times such as early morning these roads are very busy and extra time needs to be allowed.
By Train
The on airport train station offers direct rail services by Arriva and First Western.
The airport is directlyconnected to Manchester Piccadilly with six trains an hour taking around 20 minutes. This service is reduced at night to four and clearly onward connection home at night may not be available until.
You can reach Manchester Airport from virtually anywhere on the UK mainland although this may entail more than one connection.
